In accordance with Italian Law on drug users, it is possible for drug users under arrest to request for a full or semi residential therapeutic program at Villa Maraini.

Through the Prison Project staff of Villa Maraini Foundation, detainees are involved in a series of psychological support and counselling while in jail before they are granted entrance to therapeutic community.

Although the specific service that cares for arrested drug users in Villa Maraini is the In-House Detainees Community, during the house detention in the Foundation, according to individual needs and capacity, they have the opportunity to make use of the various group services offered by Villa Maraini  most suitable to their personal situation, such as the orientation service, the semi residential therapeutic community and the drop-in centre.
