The staff is composed of psychologists and social workers, who structure their work on weekly team meetings, psychological counselling, group meetings held twice a week, family counselling and ergotherapeutic activities.
Patients may be supported by methadone or naltrexone treatment; metabolic urinary analysis is done periodically to dissuade drug use and to uncover any hidden attempts at drug consumption.
People attending the centre are asked to respect a number of rules such as punctuality at opening hours (from 9am to 6pm from Monday to Friday, and until 3pm on Saturdays), courtesy and respect to others, prohibition of acting violently, both verbally and physically, prohibition of making use of any type of drug.During the therapeutic program, patients have the possibility to experience group therapy activities, occupational therapy, individual and family counselling.
The period of stay can vary according to the individual and the therapeutic program defined. For these reasons, the orientation centre can be considered as the second phase of a rehabilitative therapeutic program, even if in some cases it could also result in the final stage of rehabilitation, being that a therapeutic program is absolutely personal and created to meet singular demands.
